Primary sources
First of all it must be thoroughly examined what type of heat pump systems can be installed on your land. For example, it is very unlikely that 100-meter deep vertical borehole systems would be permitted by the competent authorities in areas that are rich in underground thermal waters. Or, it is no sense to install such systems where the soil structure is dry tharefore has a low thermal conductivity. In such case another solution must be found.
If your land is too small, we cannot design a horizontal system because it would not be able to supply enough energy for heating or it would even freeze down your land.
The most usual primary sources for heat pump systems are the following:
- soil - horizontal pipelines (collector system)
- soil - vertical boreholes (U-tubes)
- outside air
- heat of water wells or waste heat of used thermal water
